Recipe of the Month: Lavender Lemonade

The perfect (perfect, perfect, perfect...do you hear me?) summertime drink is lavender lemonade.

Here's what you need...

for the simple syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh lavender buds (less if you're using dried)
lavender from my gorgeous plant

for the lemonade:
8 cups water
juice of two lemons
(or more, depending on your taste)
a bit of lemon pulp if you like that

Here's how you do it...

Boil the sugar and water for a couple of minutes - stirring continuously.

Add lavender buds, remove from heat and cover.
Let the lavender steep for 15 minutes.

 Combine lemon juice and water.
Strain the syrup so the lavender is removed.
Pour all of the lavender syrup into the lemonade.
Add ice.

Pour generously into cute tumblers.
(Cute tumblers not optional.)

Enjoy in the sun.
Lavishly.
