In the Past Hour I...

  • Picked my children up from Bible Study childcare.
  • Made a last minute pediatrician's appointment for an acid reflux baby.
  • Got a babysitter (yay, grandma!) for said appointment.
  • Unloaded three hungry children from the car.
  • Made mac 'n cheese.
  • Breastfed a starving soul.
  • Served mac 'n cheese.
  • Tripped over the dog.
  • Called my Dr. for an insurance problem
  • Changed stinky baby.
  • Checked my email.
  • Helped kids with the "last bite" in their yogurt cups.
  • Cleaned up after mac 'n cheese.
  • Took a bite of leftover mac 'n cheese.
  • Wiped a bottom.
  • Took another bite of mac 'n cheese.
  • Wiped another bottom.
  • (I washed my hands in between those last few...)
  • Hushed a crying baby.
  • Put the two oldest chickens to bed for naps.

I think I need a raise...

Home is...An Apron and A Baby on the Hip

I love Reluctant Entertainer. It is one of the most inspiring blogs I have on my blogroll.
Sandy has started a Wednesday blog-hop called 'Home is...' She gives themes each week and this week's theme is aprons. We share a photo and a story about aprons and "home." golly, if the apron photo I have hasn't been made possibly by Miss Sandy herself! I won this adorable personalized apron from Reluctant Entertainer in 2007. It's the only one I have but I love it. I'd really like to expand my apron wardrobe - this one is sort of too cute and sentimental to me (my first little blog-friend gift) to use seriously.

But what says "home" more than a mommy in an apron and her baby on her hip? I'd say nothin' at all.
(And can I just add...this photo makes me really, very inspired to get back to my pre-Britt body. Yessiree!)

Colic: Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

"Colic" a word that can strike fear into the heart of any new mommy. I know I was afraid. With each of my pregnancies I prayed that my new baby would not be one of those babies. The first two times it worked. This time? Nope. Third time's a charm, right?

I don't mean to complain...I love my baby with a delicious fierceness. He's perfect. Mostly...just don't call me from 4 pm to 9 pm because:
1- I wouldn't hear the phone.
2 - Even if I heard it and picked up I would probably just whimper in your ear.
Life's rough in the evenings at the B. household.

(See? He still makes you want to kiss him even in the midst of his fury.)

All this to ask: Have you heard of the Tummy Tub or the Woombie? I've been eyeing them and seeing that they're touted as miracle solutions to the fussy baby problem. I'd love a chance to give them a shot and see if they'd work for the Little Mister.

I entered a contest at The Fussy Baby Site to win both of these little beauties.

Leave me a comment if you've heard anything about these products. I'm off to bounce the cutest miniature terror on the block. Bounce, bounce, bounce until my brain comes loose...

Good Morning, Little Prince

Celebrating 5 weeks in love with my Britt.

Swagbucks: Online Treasure Hunting

Stupid name? Yes. I agree. And I was a little skeptical about getting involved in this whole online phenomenon. Use the swagbucks search engine and win points? Go on little scavenger hunts for swagbucks "codes" and win points? Shopping via the swagbucks store and winning points?

Sounded like it would take too much time/effort and not be worth it.

Actually? It's kinda fun; and really not as excruciating as it sounds. And the payoff? Winning enough "swagbucks" gives opportunities to earn gift cards (the cards are my favorite) and other prizes.

I'm saving up my Amazon gift cards - real money, people! All for doing piddly little internet things - for something fun like one of these.

I'm telling you this so that you can sign up and win prizes too. Doncha wanna?

Search & Win

P.S. If you decide to sign up and become a SwagNerd, click the banner above and use me as a referral. I get swagbucks if you do and that means I'm closer to my fun gadget. :)

Or, you can click HERE.

Now, if we could just figure out a less ridiculous name for this Swagbucks thing...

I just posted a comment on a friend's blog (you should try it sometime...) and I had to enter the crazy, made up word verification letters. Guess what they were? R E S T O X I A.

Is that a word? I don't think so...but it sounds like a bad blood disease you may develop from getting too much sleep.

If that's so, I have the opposite of Restoxia today.

I. Am. So. Tired.

Dishcraft: A Cooking Blog

A few of my best online girlfriends and I are joining up to create a sweet little cooking blog called Dishcraft. I just added my first (simply delish, if I do say so...) entry, Nutmeg Gnocchi with Spinach. Go check the girls and I out!

Baby Favorites

Don't you just love a newborn?
If you said "no" or even, "eh..." you are a cold-hearted robot. And that's that.

Some of my favorite new baby-isms:

The closed-fist, double arm stretch. We call it "The SuperBaby" at our house.

The arch back stretch that can last for a full minute sometimes. Almost as cute as The SuperBaby.

Mistaking mommy's cheek for mommy's other, more productive body part and trying to latch on. Feels like sweet that's what I pretend they are.

Smiles and giggles in his sleep.

The Blissed-Out Milk Coma.

What are your favorite newborn-isms?

My talented Sister In Law, Jamie, took a bunch of sweet photos of Britt. This one in his red pilot cap is one of my favorites.
