Nursey Nursey

I have this dream. I want to be a Nurse. Labor and Delivery.

In college I changed my major after my freshman year from music to nursing. Then I got married to my dream man and then I had a dream baby and then another and slowly, but surely, my nurse-dream got thrust to the bottom the pile.

Funny, I was rummaging through and upsetting the pile of priorities and guess what resurfaced? Nursing.

I'm going back to school this Summer and I'm going to pursue this dream.

I'm energized and excited and confident that this is the direction my life is supposed to be going. Child-care is going to be a fight, money will be stretched and my time is going to be eaten by studies...I'm pretty sure it will not be easy but a lot of times God calls us to things that aren't easy but something in our hearts tugs us in that direction anyway.

I am cramming in some prerequisites like a crazy person this year and then applying for a pretty competitive accelerated nursing program to begin in May of 2009. If all goes well I should graduate with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in the Fall of 2010.

Life just gets a little bit crazy when you leave it up to God to steer you through. I'm just the pedaler!

That is one of my dream jobs too - labor and delivery nurse. Often I have contemplated leaving teaching and going for it. Good luck to you!!

It is a good field. You must be exacting by nature to do this well and absolutely excited about doing it. I will pray for you to excel! You will need all the prayers you can get and a dose of determination when things get rough as they always seem to...

Wow!! Congrats and good luck!

Brad was just getting after me tonight about going back for my masters (teachers almost HAVE to get them now). I'm not as excited about going back to school as you are! :oP

Yes, but will you be wearing those short and sassy skirts?!!

Praying with you about all this. Praying God's grace over you as you pursue your dream. Good for you!

That's so awesome!! Best of luck to you. Funny how God works things out. I'm sure he already knows where you'll be working once you are finished.

Oh wow. Also a dream of mine, but I'm realistic in my abilities at this time, so I'm pursuing a career as a Doula for now, off to L&D at a later date. Baby steps, and all that. Good for you! What an exciting decision!

I was certain I'd have more time for sign language classes after I got married....oops! Mistake..but 5 babies later, I guess I go back in a few more years, jealous of your determination.
