Loving Masterpiece

Saturday was a night for girls. The boys were away...the girls did play!

Mom and I found ourselves in my quiet house with babies asleep and no men to entertain - they so often need entertaining, don't they?

We popped in the Masterpiece production of Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen with expectant grins on our faces. Chinese food was ordered and delivered. We contemplated digging into the take-out containers chick-flick style but opted for the more civilized plates and silverware vowing to someday sit at the coffee table with candles, chop sticks and just our little white boxes full of chow mein. (A must-have scene in any worthwhile girlie movie!)

BBC's Materpiece is putting on a series of The Complete Jane Austen every Sunday night. It is fabulous! So far there has been Persuasion, Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park and Miss Austen Regrets (a drama about Austen's life).

You can find a complete schedule here.
