A Weekend to Remember Continued...

Digging in to the lemon cake.

When I last left this story, we were being whisked to Wisconsin to visit Gram and Gramp B.
We arrived late in the evening (later than we had hoped) and ran to escape the man-eating mosquito's that flocked to our car as we pulled into the drive. The house was welcoming and full of food and family. Ready for a party!

Beck looks unsure here, but he really does like Eliana!

Beck and Evie got to see their cute, older cousin, Eliana. It was the first time the two E's had met and Eliana was excited to meet "my baby cousin." That is what she kept calling Evie all night. Too precious!

Gramma Lynda, Evie and Beck.

Gramma Lynda made Beck a lemon flavored cake with a miniature soccer field on top. Beck was delighted with the "socca" ball...maybe even more than the cake?

Beck opened presents and of course there were gifts for the other grand babies too. I love how, in efforts to include everyone, one child's birthday becomes a huge event that only the likes of Christmas morning can rival. The delights of family and dedicated grandparents!
I got a rare chance to sleep in the next morning and took full advantage of it. When Evie and I finally climbed the steps from the basement it was 11:00 am and there was a lavish breakfast layed out for us to enjoy. Again, provided by Gramma Lynda...thank you, Gramma!
We putzed around the house for the rest of the morning and into the afternoon. When it came time to leave, Ira wrestled with the new gifts and the tiny car. Ira won and we were off!
But not before a quick swing with Gram on the tire-swing and lots of kisses.

It was a great way to end our whirlwind.

Now we are home. I am trying to catch up on life. You can just call me "The Laundress." I don't think I've ever seen such a ginormous pile of filthy clothes!
